Short Bio: Skitch Henderson was a Grammy-winning conductor who lent his musical expertise to Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby before founding the New York Pops and becoming the first “Tonight Show” bandleader. During World War II, Henderson flew for both the Royal Air Force and the United States Army Air Corps.

    My father once crash landed an AT6 with Skitch during training. I remember my father reminiscing with Skitch one evening at the Embassy in Fort Wayne Indiana . That was probably 50 years ago!
